Taking to his Instagram handle, the actor shared a couple of stills from his critically acclaimed film ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan’ as it clocked on year and penned a note explaining how to break taboos in the society and change the mindset of the people through the cinema. The actor, who essayed the role of a homosexual man in the film, shared a couple of stills from one of the scenes of the film in which he could be seen holding a loudspeaker in his hand as he addresses the topic of homophobia and penned a note which reads, ‘Taboo topics need to be constantly addressed through our cinema because it can really help alter the mindset of people. It takes a lot of time and effort to normalise taboo subjects and bring about constructive changes in society. I`m glad that we tried to contribute towards making the conversation about same-sex relationships in India mainstream through Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan.’ Well, the film ‘Vicky Donor’ actor earlier also opened up on the same in one of his interviews. He said, ‘Doing Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan was one of the most important decisions of my life. A lot of people from the industry asked me to re-think this because no leading hero has ever portrayed a gay man on screen. But I knew, this stereotype needed to be shattered and the time to change it, is now. I somehow knew I had to do it and take the plunge,’ Recently, the actor also posted a heartfelt note on his Instagram handle on accepting imperfections.
